Rostocker Straßenbahn AG (RSAG) is the largest urban transport provider of Northeast Germany. It offers local public transport by trams and busses, covering the city and direct suburbia with more than 500 stations. RSAG belongs to the interconnecting transport system "Verkehrsverbund Warnow".

The company was founded in 1881 with a horse-drawn tram. Electric trams run in Rostock since 1904. Today the fully public-owned company operates a fleet of 57 trams and 69 busses. It reaches a passenger volume of around 39 million per year. More than 650 employees and trainees work for the RSAG. One of the strategic goals is to become the service provider for sustainable mobility in the Rostock region until 2020.

RSAG plans to integrate a pedelec rental system in the existing transport network. Complementing public transport chains by pedelecs could be a efficient solution to the «last mile» problem especially in the surroundings. In this way RSAG contributes to reduce greenhouse emissions and to improve urban living conditions.
