Karlskrona has a unique archipelago and a well preserved history. Karlskrona is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The position in the Baltic Sea, the port and other infrastructure provide good conditions for international contacts. The Karlskrona - Gdynia sea route is one of the most important in Sweden in terms of trade in the Baltic Sea.

Karlskrona has been at the front of telecommunications and information technology since the early 90's and the Telecom City Network is a trendsetter for mobile solutions and wireless services. The main campus of Blekinge Institute of Technology is located in Karlskrona and holds a unique position in the area of IT, physical planning and sustainable development.

Karlskrona are involved in several international projects concerning sustainability. Our involvement in this project - Elmos - is part of our e-mobility initiative where we also are working with cars and buses.
